Where is your office located?
I am at 3736 N High St. Columbus, Ohio 43214. There is a parking lot in the back of the building and street parking on Arden Blvd. My office is on the second floor.
Do you see clients online?
I offer online sessions to clients both in Ohio and California. I leave it up to each clients to decide whether we meet in the office or online.
How long are your sessions and when are you available?
I see clients Monday through Friday, including some evenings. My sessions are typically 50 minutes. In certain situations it can make sense to schedule for 75 or 90 minutes.
Is there intake paperwork?
My intake is through a HIPAA Compliant online platform for therapists called SimplePractice. Upon scheduling with me I will send you a link that will guide you through the paperwork needed to start.
What is your HIPAA Privacy Policy?
See Privacy Policy.
How can I pay?
Payment is made at the end of each session by cash, check, Venmo or Credit Card.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations need to be at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a full charge for the session.
Do you take insurance?
I am not contracted with any insurance carriers. Some carriers offer “Out of Network” benefits. This means they might reimburse you directly some percentage of what you have already paid for your therapy. I encourage all my clients to see if these benefits are a part of their plan and to ask the important questions (Is there a deductible? What is the coverage amount for an out-of-network provider?). If your plan offers this, I can at the end of the month provide a superbill receipt with the relevant diagnosis code for you to submit.
What is the No Surprises Act?
The No Surprises Act is a federal law which provides you with the right to a good faith estimate of the cost of services at my practice. However, Ohio licensing board rules require me to provide you with the actual cost of my charges in a written informed consent form to which you must agree prior to my providing services. That will be available to you prior to you being seen for services and prior to any billing. In most cases it is impossible to estimate how many sessions you will need, and that will not be determined until your concerns are evaluated and will also vary based on the progress that you make, which depends in part on your efforts with the process. You will be free to discontinue services at any time or the services may otherwise be terminated in accordance with the informed consent form language.
You may request from me, or any healthcare provider, a good faith estimate for psychotherapy services. You may initiate a dispute process if the actual charges are substantially in excess of the Good Faith Estimated charges. This is unlikely ot happen and would be a violation of licensing board rules.
Any questions you may have about your right to a Good Faith Estimate should be covered at https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
