Life often brings about challenges. Whether it’s a struggling relationship, sense of loneliness, job dissatisfaction or a life-long trauma that has never been processed though, individual therapy can impact how we move through the difficulties.
I bring over 18 years of working with adults and helping them experience their lives differently from the ways they feel consistently stuck.
The foundation of my work is based on Gestalt Therapy, a dynamic, present centered approach that seeks to help a client become more aware of who and how they are in the world. Gestalt focuses on the here-and-now in session, which makes the therapy alive and vibrant. In working through an issue, my focus is to provide a safe and non-judgmental environment in which to help build your awareness to the thoughts, feelings and actions involved in whatever situation is bringing you to the session. My style helps you discover what might be blocking your connection with friends, families, and even your own self.
The following are some of the issues people often address:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Anger
- Personality/Character work
- Grief/Loss
- Work struggles and transitions
- Stage of Life Opportunities
- Repeated patterns of failed relationships
- Sexuality Issues/LGBTQ+/all gender identities
- Issues around spirituality and acceptance
Within the first session, the work to building awareness begins. Sometimes that involves developing a new perspective on situations in life. Other times it might be more about looking at the ways we are stuck in situations without a sense of how to change. Therapy can help work through these experiences so life can feel more nourishing an whole.
